The Minister of Finance, Hon. Colm Imbert, MP, has taken note of a ludicrous, fabricated and outrageous claim made by the Leader of the Opposition on a political platform, as reported in today’s Trinidad Guardian newspaper, but without a shred of evidence or basis, that the Government plans to impose a 25 percent (25%) inheritance tax on citizens on money or property received from the estate of a deceased person.

This malicious allegation is totally untrue and is a figment of the imagination of the Leader of the Opposition.
