Chairmen and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of State Enterprises and Statutory Authorities
The Ministry of Finance in collaboration with the Office of Procurement Regulation continues to sensitize Government agencies on the proper application and interpretation of the new Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Property Act.
At a session held on Friday June 23, 2023, the Honourable Colm Imbert, Minister of Finance hosted Chairmen and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of State Enterprises and Statutory Authorities. Participants were afforded the opportunity to have their questions and concerns addressed and were provided with necessary facts which would guide the way forward on doing business. Minister Imbert during his remarks emphasized the need to ensure that transparency and accountability are upheld at all Government institutions through the implementation of this Act.
The Ministry of Finance will continue to do its part and host further sessions in the future to ensure that Government agencies are equipped with the information required for successful implementation of the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Property Act.
Ministers and Permanent Secretaries
In its continued efforts to ensure that Government organisations are furnished with the necessary support to execute the recently proclaimed Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Property Act, the Ministry of Finance in collaboration with the Office of Procurement Regulation (OPR), held a sensitization session with Ministers and Permanent Secretaries of the various Ministries on June 09, 2023.
The session included presentations by technical officers in the OPR and provided further insight on the procurement depository, guidelines and procedures, and property disposal all in alignment with the current legislation.
The Public Procurement and Disposal of Property Act was fully proclaimed on April 26, 2023 and aims to reform the procurement laws of Trinidad and Tobago in keeping with the principles of good governance, such as accountability, transparency, integrity and value for money.
